John Lindley has published Parker's since 1985, first at Longacres and then at Emerald Downs since Emerald opened in 1996.
John has worked with Emerald Downs in designing the Newcomers Center and some exotic wagering guides in 1997, and has held handicapping seminars and fan education events since Emerald opened in 1996. He also taught handicapping classes through the University Of Washington's Experimental College in the late 1980s and early 1990s. And he writes up the Race Notes, which are trip notes from the live racing at Emerald.
John's book, "Handicapping for Bettor or Worse" was published in 2003 by Eclipse Press, a division of the national horse racing magazine The Blood-Horse. In 2005, John was a leading contributor to another Eclipse Press book called "The Blood-Horse Authoritative Guide to Betting Thoroughbreds."
John has been the managing partner of a partnership that breeds and races thoroughbreds since 1988. Look for his horses, racing under the stable name Asparilla Racing, at Emerald Downs.
John is an occasional guest on Joe Withee's weekly horse racing radio show "The Win, Place Show," on KJR 950-AM sports radio. Listen for him throughout the season on Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Plus, listen for his analysis and selections before every live stakes race KJR broadcasts from Emerald Downs.
